Springfield College Athletic Training Program Receives Continued Accreditation
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., April 3, 2007 – The Springfield College Athletic Training Education Program has received continued accreditation through 2012 from the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).Following a comprehensive evaluation of the Springfield College program, CAATE lauded the college for “often surpassing the requirements of the changing educational standards.”
"Springfield College has a long and rich history of providing a high quality program in athletic training,” the CAATE report stated.
The college introduced the athletic training program in 1974, and it received initial National Athletic Training Association approval. It has earned approval, and subsequently accreditation, ever since.
The program prepares students to take the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification Exam. Admission is competitive to the program, which includes coursework and clinical experience supervised by certified and licensed athletic trainers.
