Grants and Sponsored Programs Office

Grants & Sponsored Programs (GSP) is the primary office for faculty and staff to contact about external grants, including finding funding opportunities, developing proposals, negotiating and accepting awards, and properly administering a grant. The director, Linda L. Marston, Ph.D, works directly with faculty members and administrators to seek and administer successful grants in areas such as faculty research and professional development, academic and co-curricular programs, and community outreach projects that enhance student learning and student life.

GSP helps to ensure that each grant-funded project is well planned, that it furthers the College's educational mission, and that it maintains high standards in representing Springfield College to granting organizations. Linda specializes in public grants from government agencies, and coordinates with the director of Development when pursuing funding from private foundations.

All faculty and staff proposals to external funders require coordination with and review by GSP, which will assist you in obtaining College approvals prior to proposal submission. To avoid conflicting grant requests and last minute disappointment, email or call Linda at x3654 to review the “Grants Protocol” and to set up a schedule to meet the funder's deadline. The protocol form is available by clicking the link at the left.

Electronic grant applications to the National Science Foundation and U.S. Department of Education are submitted by the GSP director.

GSP is located on the garden level of Marsh Memorial, in the Office of Development.

Parents and students seeking scholarship grants will find information by visiting the Financial Aid Office.
