Occupational Therapy Program at Springfield College

Fully encompassing Springfield College's humanics philosophy, the occupational therapy programs emphasize that health and learning are best gained through an approach that unifies spirit, mind, and body. The over-reaching goal of the programs is to foster in each student a strong sense of professional identity embracing the basic tenets and ethical practices of the profession.

OT East Campus Adventure The Occupational Therapy Program at Springfield College has been fully accredited as an entry level master’s degree program with both graduate and undergraduate entry points since 1991.

On the undergraduate level, the occupational therapy department offers a dual degree program. This unique plan allows students to complete a bachelor of science or arts degree in a field of study related to occupational therapy and a master's degree in occupational therapy in five years. The professional portion of the program begins in the student's fourth year and continues into the fifth, or graduate year, including two summers. OT students in human anatomy lab

On the graduate level, the OT department offers master's degrees at two different levels, for those entering the profession and for post-professional study. It also offers for post-professional students a Certificate of Advanced Study and practice certificates. (Inquiries about the practice certificate program should be directed to the Occupational Therapy Department (413) 748-3581.) The master's degree programs are designed for persons with various backgrounds and levels of education who either wish to become occupational therapists or who wish to further their education in the field. Most of our entry-level students choose to earn a master of education (M.Ed.) in Occupational Therapy. The master of science (M.S.) option requires three additional courses to be taken beyond the standard program requirements.

If you have questions about the program or would like more information, you may contact Deborah Snyder, the OT department's administrative assistant, at (413) 748-3581 or by email. If you send an email, please include your name, address, and daytime phone number (if you prefer to be contacted by phone).
